Hello everyone, today teacher Dung will read to everyone the reading exercise: “The Monkey’s Heart”, let’s listen to what this reading exercise is about. One sunny day, while climbing on the coconut trees by the river, suddenly heard a loud splashing sound in the water, a long, rough-skinned animal, baring its sharp teeth, like a hacksaw, crawled on the sand, it looked at the monkey with a pair of squinted eyes, with two lines of tears flowing down, when surprised asked: “Who are you, why are you crying”. The crocodile replied: “I am a crocodile, I cry because no one plays with me”. The monkey heard that and immediately invited the crocodile to be friends, from then on every day the crocodile came, eating the fruits that the monkey picked for him. One day, the crocodile invited the monkey to come to his house, the monkey accepted, sat on the crocodile’s back, swam far from shore, the crocodile immediately said: “Our king is seriously ill, he must eat a monkey’s heart to recover, I need your heart”. The monkey was very scared when he heard that, but then he calmed down and said: “Such an important matter and you didn’t tell me in advance.

My heart, I left it at home, you take me back and I will take my heart to offer to your king”. The crocodile thought it was real so he brought the monkey back to shore, when he got there the monkey swung up on a tree branch and scolded: “You ungrateful animal, go away, no one wants to be friends with fake people like you”. The crocodile was so scared that he dived deep into the water and disappeared. So through the story “The Monkey’s Heart” we see that the crocodile is a very good fake animal, but the monkey exposed its true face. Through that, we learn the lesson that we should not live a fake life and lose the people we love.
